Viers - No. 0001

The "Techno" (or at least that's what some call it) that seems to get pushed nowadays is hardly anything of the sort, often a mash of styles that lends more towards footwork, juke and Detroit-style house, but if there's one tune that has managed to merge, deep, spacious and raw techno with the post-HYPH MNGO wave of bass music well, then it's this one by Leeds' Viers.

Percussion-wise, it's removed from a lot of his peers by virtue of recalling Basic Channel (which always gets approval from me), and the chords are so perfectly worked that they fully wash over you, something that Joy O himself would be happy to call his own.

I like to think that this one will see a release in some way or another.
