Finally Here... (MTR011) Delete - Predatory Things Of A Minute

I've been pushing through the mysterious clips and videos of a Soviet nature that Russian-based producer Delete sends through for a while now, and the reason for it all is finally revealed, an LP released on the Dutch  label, Mindtrick Records.

Check out the final teaser below, containing the track at the halfway stage of the release, 1937.

It's clear that Delete is a man interested in the storied history of his country, and it reflects in his music. The video above contrasts the stark grimness of day to day life in the USSR, contrasted with the glorious public face the regime used to keep up appearances and this is reflected in the music, which is largely downbeat, at times unnerving, and gives an overall vibe of uncertainty. All this combines to ensure that you're quickly aware of the story Delete wants to tell. Garage this laced in history can't be called future garage, so I'll quote Inofaith and say this is the perfect use of the term "Future Garage from the past".

Either way, it's a real standout album for me.

Check out a preview mix below.

The album consists of eleven original tracks, and a couple of remixes of Remember Us, courtesy of Roof Light and Lostlojic, and fans of physical releases will be happy to know that there's a 12" sampler available with originals Remember Us (with a remix from DFRNT) and Neva (with a remix from VVV). You can grab all formats from the Mindtrick Records store now.

Mindcast #1

Check out this promotional mix from the Dutch label, Mindtrick Records. Plenty of Night Track-y sounds on this one, including the likes of Inofaith, VVV and a lot of forthcoming stuff from the badman that is Delete.

A great listen, and a sign of a great label. Listen above or grab the download and listen later.

Delete's Second Album Teaser

Another teaser from the elusive Russian badman that is Delete has surfaced, giving you goons and goblins a little more of what to expect from his forthcoming album.

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited for this one to drop, hopefully some time in October on Mindtrick Records. Fans of physical media will be pleased to know that alongside a digital release, CD and vinyl will also be available.

Expect more info soon...

Delete - Upon That Cross

Delete has posted up a new tune for download titled "Upon That Cross" which is one from the leftfield. You have the lush, immersive pads, but the drums are broken, shifted, which ensures an interesting listen from start to finish. Check it out...

Delete - Ninth

Out to Delete. The Russian always pushes out work of a high standard, but he's also been very generous of late. This track 'Ninth' is typical of Delete's spacious, deep take on garage, and they way he keeps a whole load of vocal samples working as he does seriously needs commending. Grab it as a free download now!

Delete

I was recently contacted, and offered a tune as a potential give-away. The tune was by Delete and Gasface (who we interviewed recently) so naturally, I took them up on their offer immediately. I managed to score a pretty sweet interview with Delete too, to add a bit of meat to the delicious, delicious bones provided by the free track, 'Pulcinella's Secret'...

NT: Hi, can you give us an introduction to Delete?
D:
Hi.
I produce experimental electronic music under the name of Delete.
Was born and still live in a small Russian town near Moscow.

A Recommendation: Various Artists - Deep Lane (Square Harmony)

Square Harmony, a Russian based label, have compiled a series of tracks from artists that are right up Night Tracks' alley with their Deep Lane release.

Including tracks from the likes of Klatu, Gasface, EPLP, Essay, Detz, Delete, Stiver, Sotus, Ghostek, Depth, Kontigo, Fedbymachines and Module Module, they've managed to put together a compilation that I know will be in my top releases of the year come December.

The 15 track release is packed full of dark, shuffling garage-y gems that flow really well into each other, and aside from some of the more familiar names on there, it forms a list of producers that you should certainly keep an eye out for.

Check out the previews below, and bag it here from Monday 13th February.

Night Shift Collective

Check out a new group, the Night Shift Collective on Soundcloud of like-minded producers pushing a 'Night Time' sound.

From the description; "We will be showing you our best tunes along the lines of Future Garage, 2-Step, Ambient and related styles that feature deep, sincere vibes.
If you're trying to find the soundtrack to your night in solitude or just chilling out, look no further.

Out to Inofaith for setting this up! Other members apart from me, Budeaux, are all worth checking out. The list in full is: Sorrow, Klātu, fedbymachines, Mirror State, delete, Great Skies, Roof Light, Birds Of Passage, Shura, Essáy, Venture, Gallery Six, Owsey, Sipp and Infest.

It's a real worldwide thing, with members from The Netherlands, UK, Canada, Germany, Russia, New Zealand, Australia and Japan, so keep an eye on it if you dig that sound.
