Repeated Measures - Anova

Check out Chris Norwood's new project under his Repeated Measures moniker, the Anova EP.

As I've come to expect from him, it's a mix of a tremendous amount of styles, from post-rock to ambient to I guess dubstep at points. There's a lot to comprehend in there, but it's put together with enough subtlety to be able to pick it all out, whilst still retaining a grandiose sense of scale. Check out what he's put together so far...

He'll be drip feeding a track per week for the next 6-8 weeks until the EP is complete. If the two opening tracks are anything to go by, it'll be interesting to see what comes out of this. See you next week dude, no pressure...

Repeated Measures - Autumn Leaves (I'm Sorry)

A nice, cinematic piece from Repeated Measures that verges into feedback-laden shoegaze at points (which is also available for free). Looks like there will be more coming from him too, so keep an eye out!

A Recommendation: Repeated Measures - White Rose

I've recommended Repeated Measures before, and I'm back again to recommend him again. His new release, White Rose, is another set of solid, haunting ambient music that to me, almost has a kind of Slowdive feel to it.

Check it out here. It's a name your price download, so if you can, be sure to send some dollars his way!

Recommendations: Ghostek - Lost Tapes/Repeated Measures - Deep Current

A couple of recommendations for you today.

First up, we have some gold in the form of a rare release from Ghostek that you can get here released by Square Harmony. Check it out below. I'm a massive fan of Ghostek's stuff, his percussion especially is next level, check out the drums on the latter half of Nomad. At $2.80 for the full release (roughly £1.80 if you're paying through Paypal in the UK), you can't go wrong. It was a definite bag on sight for me, and for you fans of night time music, it should be too. Keep your eyes peeled for a release by Ghostek on Other Heights soon.

Secondly, we have a release from Repeated Measures that you can grab here as a free download. How this guy hasn't got more followers, I'll never know. His work consistently impresses me, so it's nice to see an EP out. The tracks range from ambient, to more beat driven, even veering towards shoegaze at certain points. He has a real command of the music, check out the piano on 'Untitled', really moving, and he manages to give everything a kind of 'worn-in', aged feeling. I would pay for this EP, so to get it for free is a real bonus. Check it out below.
